Many noteworthy things have happened on this day as can be seen in the above link, two things which are missing however, are the launch of Eve Online and forming of The Collective by Emperess in the year 2003.
Five years have come and gone. A long time by any comparison, but in a video game, a virtual eternity. People have come and gone. CEO's, directors, prominent members, heroes, idiots. You name it, we have had one or more of each. Thankfully though, least of them were idiots, you will just have to take our word for it.
Emperess lead COL from conception and retired from Eve after having made The Collective one of the most recognised names in southern, if not all of Eve.
Marskalkur, a worthy successor if ever there was one, took over and lead us through turbulent times, among which CA dissolved and SE suddenly found itself with a lot of fighters, and no one to fight. To save the corp, foreigners were allowed access for the first time.
Taz Devlin was to be Marskalkur's successor, and with the help of dedicated and driven directors the corporation grew exponentially and fought RAT. among others for control of the E3-SDZ system in Catch, this would later lead to the two agreeing on a NAP to focus on a new threat and eventually evolve into what is today known as Against ALL Authorities.
Muad'dib took over from Taz and made sure things stayed the course in his brief stay at the helm.
Digiblast, our current CEO who finally understood the phrase 'herding cats' is hardly a stranger to southern war veterans is spearheading The Collective into a new era with the assistance of some very strong willed directors and dedicated members.
As any corporation formed in the early days can no doubt testify to, maturing and then ultimately growing old is by no means an easy feat. Let alone having gone through such a rollercoaster ride as The Collective has done, still we stand strong and defiant.
Brothers in arms, friends, rivals, enemies come and gone, we remember. A toast to new and old alike, and for another five years of kicking ass. Let's get this celebration started and roll in the cake, the stripper's going to run out of air soon.
For we are The Collective. We are as one!
